High-Silicon Cast Iron Anode

Robust, cost-effective high-silicon cast iron (HSCI) anodes for impressed current groundbeds in soil and water — with a chromium grade for brackish and marine service.

HIGH-SILICON CAST IRON ANODE

High-Silicon Cast Iron Anodes

High-silicon cast iron (HSCI) anodes are robust, dimensionally stable and cost-effective — a proven choice for impressed-current groundbeds in soil and water. The chromium-bearing grade adds chloride resistance for brackish and marine service. They tolerate high current output with a predictable, low consumption rate. High-silicon cast iron anode (แอโนดเหล็กหล่อซิลิคอนสูง) ใช้ในระบบจ่ายกระแสแบบ groundbed ในดินและน้ำ.

  • Dimensionally stable with predictable consumption
  • Robust, mechanically strong cast construction
  • Chromium grade resists chlorides (brackish / marine)
  • Tolerates high current output
  • Cost-effective for soil and water groundbeds
  • Long service record in impressed-current use

Applications: buried pipeline protection, tank-bottom groundbeds, well casings, water-box / industrial ICCP, brackish & marine service, distributed current demand

AVAILABLE FORMS

Available Forms

Hollow tubular high-silicon cast iron anode for groundbeds

Tubular Anode

Groundbeds · high output

Hollow tubular castings offering a high surface area and current output per anode, used in shallow and deep groundbeds for pipeline and tank protection.

Solid rod high-silicon cast iron anode for compact groundbeds

Rod / Solid Anode

Compact groundbeds

Solid rod castings for compact groundbeds and lower-current points. Straightforward to install with cap-and-cable connection.

HSCI anodes are installed in groundbeds — shallow horizontal trenches or deep vertical boreholes — surrounded by coke breeze backfill. Deep groundbeds suit high-resistivity surface soils and congested sites. Most products are made to customer drawings and project specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a high-silicon cast iron (HSCI) anode?

A high-silicon cast iron anode is a robust, dimensionally stable impressed-current anode for groundbeds in soil and water. It tolerates high current output with a predictable, low consumption rate and has a long service record. The chromium-bearing grade adds chloride resistance for brackish and marine service, making HSCI a proven, cost-effective groundbed anode.

HSCI or MMO — which should I choose?

High-silicon cast iron is robust and cost-effective for soil and water groundbeds and tolerates high current. MMO (titanium) is lighter, dimensionally stable and much longer-lived, and works in concrete and marine service as well. HSCI suits budget-driven soil groundbeds; MMO suits long-life pipelines, tank bottoms and concrete. We supply both.

What is a groundbed, and why coke backfill?

A groundbed is the array of impressed-current anodes installed in the soil to return current to the structure — in a shallow horizontal trench or a deep vertical borehole. HSCI anodes are surrounded by calcined-petroleum-coke breeze backfill, which lowers the anode-to-earth resistance and shifts most of the consumption to the carbon, extending anode life. Always specify coke backfill.

Which forms are available and which grade for marine service?

Hollow tubular castings give high surface area and output per anode for shallow and deep groundbeds; solid rod castings suit compact groundbeds and lower-current points. Choose the chromium-bearing grade for brackish and marine exposure. Most anodes are made to customer drawings and project specification.
