How a Static Mixer Works
A static mixer uses a series of fixed internal elements installed inside a pipe or housing to repeatedly divide, redirect and recombine the flow stream. As process fluid moves through the unit, this geometry produces thorough mixing, dispersion or heat exchange without any rotating or externally powered components. Because the elements can be configured for a specific housing type, connection style and process condition, static mixers are applied across a wide range of duties — from general blending to sanitary, laboratory, steam-heating and high-viscosity service.

TYPE 01 · GENERAL PURPOSE
General Purpose Mixer
General-purpose mixing configured with a standard pipe and standard connection to suit the application. The baseline static mixer for continuous blending, dispersion and reaction duties across process industries, with the element count adjusted to the mixing requirement.

TYPE 02 · SANITARY / FOOD-GRADE
Sanitary / Food-Grade Mixer
Sanitary / hygienic processing configured with a sanitary pipe (ferrule) housing and IDF joint connections. The sanitary interior finish and easily removable elements allow both clean-in-place (CIP) and disassembled cleaning, making it suitable for food and medical processing.

TYPE 04 · STEAM INJECTION
Steam Injection Mixer
Direct steam heating of a liquid, configured with a standard pipe and standard connection plus a steam inlet. Steam is injected straight into the flowing liquid and mixed by the elements for high thermal efficiency with low heat loss, and with minimised noise and vibration compared with open steam sparging.

TYPE 05 · HIGH-VISCOSITY
High-Viscosity Mixer
High-viscosity liquid processing configured with a special edge-sealed housing. Zero clearance between the housing and the element leaves no unmixed film at the wall, so thick fluids are fully mixed — the configuration for viscous chemical and textile-process streams.

What is a static mixer and how does it work?
A static mixer is an in-line mixing unit that blends, disperses or reacts fluids as they flow through a pipe — without moving parts or external power. A series of fixed internal elements repeatedly divides, redirects and recombines the flow stream, so that as fluid passes through, the geometry produces thorough mixing, dispersion or heat exchange. Because there is no motor or rotor, it needs no drive power and effectively no maintenance.
Inline mixer vs static mixer — are they the same?
A static mixer is one type of in-line mixer — the motionless kind, with fixed elements and no moving parts. Other in-line mixers are dynamic, using a powered rotor (in-line homogenisers and mixer pumps). If you need continuous mixing in a pipeline with no drive, no maintenance and low running cost, the static mixer is the in-line option; where very high shear is required, a dynamic in-line mixer may be used instead.
How many mixing elements does a static mixer need?
All five configurations here use a standard element count of 6 per unit, which is increased or decreased to suit the mixing duty and flow conditions. More elements give more complete mixing at the cost of a higher pressure drop; the right count depends on the viscosity ratio, flow rates and how tight a blend you need.
