RANDOM PACKING

Random Packing

Cost-effective packing media offering high flux capacity and excellent corrosion resistance. Randomly dumped into the column, these shapes create high surface area contact between liquid and vapor phases.

  • Pall Ring — most common, high void fraction, low pressure drop
  • Raschig Ring — simple cylindrical geometry, ceramic and metal versions
  • Saddle types (Berl, Intalox) — improved liquid spreading over rings
  • Cascade Ring — enhanced capacity with low pressure drop
  • Heilex Ring — spiral-shaped for efficient gas-liquid contact
  • Snowflake Ring — high void ratio for demanding applications

Applications: chemical processing, wastewater treatment, scrubbing towers, absorption columns, acid-base neutralization

Structured Packing

High-efficiency corrugated packing with very low pressure drop characteristics. Designed for demanding vacuum and high-purity separation processes where minimal pressure drop is critical.

  • Corrugated sheet packing — standard high-efficiency geometry
  • Wire gauze packing — ultra-fine separation, very low HETP
  • Grid packing — high capacity, fouling-resistant for dirty services

Applications: refinery fractionation, petrochemical columns, vacuum distillation, high-purity alcohol and pharmaceutical separations
