Economical industry-standard plastic random packing
Plastic Pall Ring
Economical, versatile industry-standard plastic packing. Two rows of punched holes with inward-folded fingers raise throughput, improve efficiency and lower pressure drop versus ceramic packing. Higher liquid hold-up aids absorption with slow reactions, and the ring-and-spoke construction gives high mechanical strength for deep beds in corrosive service.

- LDPE · HDPE
- PVC · CPVC
- PVDF (Kynar) · ECTFE (Halar) · ETFE (Tefzel) · PFA
Applications: absorption, scrubbing and stripping — a versatile, corrosion-resistant alternative to metal Pall rings

Saw-tooth edge saddle packing
Plastic Super Saddle
Saddle-shaped packing with saw-tooth edges in heat- and corrosion-resistant plastics. Low pressure drop, high flux and high efficiency with easy handling — higher capacity and lower pressure drop than ceramic saddles. Relatively high liquid hold-up suits slow reactions, and the self-distributing geometry minimises channeling.

Open-celled spiral ring packing
Plastic Heilex Ring
An open-celled random packing, typically injection-moulded in polypropylene, with a spiral configuration that enlarges surface area and void space for better mass transfer. The non-nesting geometry keeps the bed uniformly open — high void ratio, even gas–liquid distribution and low pressure drop.

Floating-ball random packing
Plastic Hollow Floating Ball
Hollow spherical packing with a large contact area, stable chemistry and long service life. High liquid/vapour loading allows a smaller column diameter, with high efficiency, low pressure drop and wide turndown. The free-floating action under gas/liquid flow provides self-agitation and self-cleaning.

Multi-arm high-performance plastic packing
Plastic Star Ring
High-performance plastic packing with superior efficiency, capacity and pressure-drop characteristics — over 60% higher efficiency and about 20% lower pressure drop than a 3.5″ plastic Pall ring. The multi-arm star geometry maximises surface area and void space in a single symmetrical unit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which plastic random packing should I choose?
The plastic Pall ring is the economical, versatile default. The super saddle, Heilex ring and star ring offer higher performance; the floating ball and polyhedral ball suit water treatment and scrubbing; the PTFE Raschig ring is for the most aggressive media (HF, fuming acids); and the Rosette ring is chosen for high-efficiency acid-gas absorption. Send us your service and we will recommend a type.
What is the temperature limit of plastic packing?
It depends on the polymer. Polypropylene (PP) is generally used to around 100–120 °C, PVDF and CPVC tolerate higher temperatures, and PTFE is stable across roughly −260 °C to +260 °C. Tell us your operating temperature and we will match the polymer.
Which polymer suits my chemistry?
PP for general service, PVC and CPVC for many acids, PVDF (Kynar) for strong oxidisers and higher temperatures, and PTFE for the most aggressive media such as hydrofluoric and fuming acids. Send us the media, concentration and temperature for a recommendation.
Plastic, metal or ceramic random packing — what is the difference?
Plastic packing gives corrosion resistance at low weight and cost but is temperature-limited (roughly 120–160 °C, more for PTFE). Metal offers the highest strength and lowest pressure drop for high-temperature, deep-bed service. Ceramic is inert and handles hot gas and strong acids (except HF). We supply all three families.
